Spring for Peace May 2018

Spring for Peace celebrated its 15th anniversary annual fundraising gala that took place at the stunning The Globe and Mail Centre on Thursday, May 10 this year. A memorable evening that was filled with music, entertainment, tasty food, awesome cocktails and fantastic panoramic city and lake views. The #S4P2018 gala featured MC Dwight Drummond, co-host of CBC News Toronto, an automated Fine Wine and Silent Auction and youth presentations. Since 2010, Spring for Peace has raised over $2.5 million, enabling Peacebuilders Canada to offer access to justice and empowerment programs to Toronto’s youth. Peacebuilders is a charitable organization based in Toronto, Canada that provides programs and services to young people in conflict and works towards effecting change in our justice and education systems. Peacebuilders uses restorative practices to keep young people out of the criminal justice system, make schools safer for learning and development, and build strong and healthy communities. Since 2006, Peacebuilders has run a restorative court-diversion program, Restorative Youth Circles (RYC), at the Ontario Court of Justice Youth and Family Court at 311 Jarvis. RYC has supported more than 800 youth in conflict with the law and helped them get their charges dropped.
